Jakubowski’s square
33-100 Tarnów
Tarnowskie Planty, established in the 1860s, were a meeting place for residents with a lot of cultural events.
In 1993, the park was recognized as a municipal park, alleys were renovated and benches were created – the whole area encourages walks in the shade of old trees, especially on hot days. They were called Planty im. Józef Jakubowski – a lawyer from Tarnów, traveler and founder of the District Museum in Tarnów. He was also responsible for bringing the remains of General Józef Bem to the town and placing them in the mausoleum in the Strzelecki Garden in 1929. Currently, the planets are certainly the first showcase for people coming to Tarnów by rail.”
