Church of the Fathers of the Philippines (including ceramics)
Piłsudskiego 9, 33-100 Tarnów
On Piłsudskiego Street, since 1878, there is an assembly of oo. Philippines. This neo-Romanesque church was completely rebuilt in the 1960s. The remarkable mosaics that finish this beautiful church attract attention. The interior design is complemented by mosaic representations: a dove – a symbol of the Holy Spirit. on the rood arch and two wall compositions in the aisles. The first is associated with Saint Philip Neri – the patron of the Congregation, and in the southern nave – with the statue of the “dancing Madonna” just after the Annunciation. Both the sculptural elements: Christ, the Madonna, reliefs in the side altars and the Way of the Cross, as well as all mosaics, were made by Bogdana and Anatol Drwalów. Despite the changes, the interior was stylistically homogeneous.
