Wooden Church
34-643 Jurków
The one-nave, historic, shingled larch church dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord was built before 1578. In the 18th century it was rebuilt, and in 1976 it was enlarged by a vestibule and completely renovated.
In the main baroque altar there is a priceless Renaissance painting of Christ falling, carrying the cross. The wings of a Gothic triptych from the mid-15th century, painted on both sides, depict the figures of Saints Catherine and Stanisław (on the obverse sides) as well as the Sorrowful Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows (on the reverse). The founders of the triptych are also visible – a kneeling clergyman and a knight of the Gryf coat of arms.
Two side altars from the 18th century and a few loose-standing figures of saints also deserve attention. Outside, there is also a historic, folk crucifix. The church a part of wooden architecture trail in Małopolska.
