It can be approached from the side of Bohaterów Getta square. The Israeli People’s Bathhouse came into existence in 1902. The building was erected in Mauritanian style and it was designed by Franciszek Hackbeil senior or Szczęsny Zaremba. It was used by Jews of Tarnów, mainly on Friday evenings. In front of the bathhouse, sometimes called mykwa, there is a monument commemorating the first mass transport of Polish political prisoners to KL Auschwitz ofn14th June 1940. They spent the night before the journey in the bathhouse. After the war, until 1986 a natural medicine hospital ward operated there. Since 1993 the building has been a private property and it serves different functions.
