Strzelecki Park

This is one of the favorite places of Tarnów residents. The park was established in 1866 as a public garden. From the beginning, there was a shooting range and the base of the Riffle Association in its area. The objects of garden architecture in the Strzelecki Park are: the gardener’s house from 1907, a water fountain with a statue of Hebe on the main flower bed from 1912, a water chime and the Mausoleum of General Bem – the last building erected in the park from 1927. In 1928 the park was surrounded by a brick fence. Despite the constant changes in the layout of the park, it has retained its entire area and the basic function of a relax place for the inhabitants of Tarnów. Numerous benches located along the main alleys and around the pond invite you to stay in the park. In the former vegetable garden, there is a modern Jordan Garden, a place loved by children. The newest attraction of the park is the sensory garden in the place of the former shooting range, composed in such a way that the plants growing there affect not only the sense of sight, but also the extra-visual senses, i.e. touch, taste and smell.
