Błonie village on the Dunajec was for the first time mentioned in 1402 as property of the Blońskis family, coat of arms Biberstein. In the 1770’s the riverbed was moved eastwards. In the 19th century, due to its attractive location on the Dunajec, it was considered a holiday village. In 1907 on the purchased remains of the manor bishop Leon Wałęga built there Ave villa as holiday rest place for pupils of the Higher Catholic Seminary. The village also houses military cemetery no. 198 of 1915, designed by Heinrich Scholz. At present the village is famous for manufacturing of communion wafers and smoked meat.
