Berka Joselewicza 6, 33-200 Dąbrowa Tarnowska
The synagogue was built in the second half of the XIX century, under the Jewish architect and engineer’s plan, Abraham Goldstein. The exact date of the termination of the construction was 1st of April 1863. During the World War I the synagogue was destroyed and later on rebuilt just to be devastated again and used by Nazis as a storage. For the next couple of years the place struggled with enormous financial problems. The critical situation lasted until 2006, after which resulted in undertaking numerous activities that aimed at saving the valuable monument. In 2012 the Centre of Meeting Cultures was established in its place. It is used to promote the culture and exchange of thoughts, ideas. Concerts as well as lectures and meetings are hosted in the renovated synagogue. At the Centre of Meeting Cultures there are permanent exhibitions presenting coexistence of cultures and religions. As part of the events calendar of the Dąbrowski House of Culture occasional thematic exhibitions are also organized.
