The figure of St. Floriana was founded after the town fire in 1723, and it was funded by the townsmen of Brzeg. The creator is unknown. In 1906, after the great fire of the city in 1904, the figure was restored and moved to its present place on the Market Square. Subsequent renovations of the monument took place in 1941, 1967 and 2003. Before World War II, the monument was supervised by the Volunteer Fire Department, and after the war by the Guild of Various Crafts.
