Karolina Kózka was a Polish martyr, virgin and Blessed of the Catholic Church. As a child, she studied eagerly, she was diligent and conscientious, and greatly dedicated to God. In Wał-Ruda, a village near Tarnów, in Śmietana farmstead, there is a reconstruction of the house in which she lived with her family. It is a museum-house. The building consisted of a stable through which one entered to the hall and the living room. There were 13 people in the family living in the room. There are Blessed Karolina’s mementoes. On the 10th of June, 1987, in Tarnów, John Paul II beatified Karolina.
