The area of Jewish street has become a place of mass Jews’ settlement in Tarnów since 1550’s. In 1581 Jews received a permission to build a wooden synagogue, which stood in the nouthern side of the street, behind the houses. In 1631, there were already 12 Tarnów Jews’ houses inside the town.
