Malarek’s house
Zalipie 128A, 33-263 Zalipie k Dabrowy Tarn
Malarek’s house is a place with an artistic soul, which was born because of the housewife’s need for decorating old huts. In times when, due to the lack of ventilation and omnipresent smoke, the interiors were refreshed with lime, amateur painters decorated them with flowers. Then these flowers were also found on the outer walls of houses and farm buildings, walls, fences and vessels. The real flowering of these decorations was ensured by the famous local painter – Felicja Curyłowa, who, apart from artistic skills, was able to promote her village effectively and efficiently. Today, it houses the seat of the Municipal Cultural Center. Here, you can get not only information on folk art from Zalipie, but also visit exhibitions devoted to the tradition of painting, view the current photographic documentation of the annual "Painted Cottage" competition, and explore the gallery of works by artists from Powiśle Dąbrowski area.
