The church in Brzesko Okocim was built in 1884-85 from the foundation of Jan Goetz-Okocimski, the founder of the Okocim brewery, according to the design of the architect Max Schwedo.

It was built in the neo-Gothic style of stone blocks. The church is single-nave, four-span with a short chancel closed on three sides, a pair of chapels on the sides of the transept, and a tower on the west.

The interior is covered with cross-ribbed vaults supported by pillars with Romanesque-Gothic capitals. It is characterized by soaring architectural forms, a stone facade texture, and a rich architectural and sculptural design. The interior decoration comes from the period of its construction. Four neo-Gothic altars made mostly of stone in Seyfried’s in Vienna. In the church there are epitaphs of Jan Ewangelista Goetz-Okocimski, neo-Renaissance, made of bronze by Zygmunt Langman and Jan Albin Goetz II, made of bronze according to the design of Antoni Madeyski. There are Goetz crypts in the church.

An interesting fact is that the last owner of the Okocim Brewery, Antoni Goetz, on his deathbed, asked to be able to rest in the family crypt in this church. In order to fulfill this wish, the Okocim Region Lovers’ Association, on the authorization of the deceased’s family, had for several years been trying to bring Goetz’s ashes from Kenya to Poland, where he died on October 31, 1962. It was not possible until 2017, 55 years after his death.
