The Regional Chamber in Wojnicz
Rynek 30, 32-830 Wojnicz
The Regional Chamber in Wojnicz was established in 1969 on the initiative of Fr. Jan Królikiewicz, a great lover of Wojnicz and its history. By creating the Regional Chamber, he saved many valuable monuments from irretrievable destruction. For many years, the Chamber did not have suitable premises and was moved to various places. In 1983, the PTTK Circle made a dramatic decision to suspend the activity of the Regional Chamber and the collections were stored in the private rooms of Fr. Jan Królikiewicz. It was not until 1987 that the municipal authorities allocated a new room for the Chamber (Rynek 29 – Findrówka) and a nice, aesthetic exhibition of the collection was arranged there. The opening ceremony, attended even by Bishop Władysław Bobowski, took place on November 10, 1990.
