Jan Szczepanik, also called “Polish Edison”, was born on 13th of June 1872 and died on 8th of November 1926 in Tarnów. He’s been connected to the town since 1902, when he married Wanda Dzikowska in Tarnów chapel. It is a first monument of a great inventor – pioneer of colour photography, colour television and movie, precursor of modern weaving industry and inventor of body armour.
